Tripod87 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 This isn't an internet runs slowly issue when I'm using utorrent, it's my internet browser completely not working and pages not loading at all. But it's not a problem with my internet. AIM works and other internet options seem to work. Ventrilo works and I actually see a ping of 20 which is a normal ping without running utorrent. The weirdest thing is that after I stop running utorrent and close it, my internet browser still doesnt work. I go to certain pages and nothing loads, it's just a blank white page. I use Google Chrome for my browser, but IE doesn't work either. I haven't tried using another Torrent client since utorrent is by far the best, but perhaps I should try, although I feel like this issue should be solvable. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.
Switeck Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Try lowering net.max_halfopen and turning off DHT and Resolve IPs in uTorrent.Do you by any chance use wireless or USB networking?(These are FAR more vulnerable to such overloads.)
Tripod87 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 I understand wireless would be more susceptible to overloads, but why only the internet on my internet browser, and in such a way that I see absolutely no progress on a webpage whatsoever, even after minutes and minutes of waiting whereas the ping on ventrilo is good and IM works pretty much flawlessly?
