Heavensgatezz Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I was connecting to peers perfectly fine until i got a new router the belkin n " serial f5d8236-4 ". Utorrent says everything is fine and the port is forwarded but i'm only connecting to like 5 out of 400 seeds and 0 out of 400 peers. While before i could connect to around 200 peers average.I dunno whats wrong since i haven't changed anything but the router and the router deosn't seem to be doing anything wrong. If you need more info just ask.:Update: just downloaded a feel at 800kb/s while only connected to 3 peers out of 200, so speed is fine i just can't seem to connect to a reasonable amount of peers
Switeck Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Belkin routers are NOT capable of the many connections at once typical of other routers. For a few of them, even 60 connections is about all they can do.Your best bet is to turn off DHT (both kinds), LPD, UPnP, NAT-PMP, AND Resolve IPs.Then reduce net.max_halfopen to no higher than 8...though 1-4 might be better.Lastly, reduce global and per-torrent connection max to no more than 100...and you may even have to reduce them to 60 or less.
