Dan0512
Hey guys. Up to now I thought I was using the latest version of U-torrent (1.8 build 11813). Then while browsing the peer list, I noticed most of them had version 1.81. So I realized it was time to update; but, whenever I click on "check for updates", I get an error telling me that the program can't connect with the update server. The same happens when I try to download languages. I tried disabling the Windows firewall, but it didn't help (U-Torrent was already on the exception list anyway)I've been using U-torrent for a long time, and it has been able to update without problems ever since. I've just recently switched to Vista, and I set up my static IP just like I did with XP. Everything seems to be working the way it is though, fast download speeds and incoming connections on my selected port. Can anyone help?
schnurlos
If you are using ipfilter.dat, check if utorrent.com is in the list. When you know that 1.8.1 is out, do a manual update.
Firon
The updater works here. Not sure why it's not working for you. In the meantime, just update manually. The update server runs on the same IP as the forums, so if you were IP blocked, you would be unable to browse the forums. Dan0512
I found 2 entries matching "utorrent" in my ipfilter list. I removed them, but I still can't manage to update. What's the IP of the update server, so I can search for that string?
DreadWingKnight
What IP blocking systems are you using?
Dan0512
I'm using the built in "ipfilter" function of Utorrent, so no 3rd party programs.
