Hi, Im very new to this (my first go in fact!), and despite trawling through the faqs ect, I cant seem to find out how to deal with this. I get a message saying 'torrent you are trying to add is already in list of torrents. Do you want to download trackers from it'. It seems to make no difference whether I click yes or no. Im not very knowlegable about computors, I just want to to listen or watch stuff...what am I doing wrong? Thanks

Okay i had this message just a minute ago, as far as i understood it the ".torrent" file you are trying to add to utorrent, to download the music or videos etc, is already added and you are already downloading it, or seeding it.

The trackers associated with that particular .torrent file aren't likely to have changed since you tried to add it again (perhaps without realising), so you wont be able to tell any difference if you add them or not PROBABLY because you actually arent downloading anymore trackers.

If you dont know what the trackers are, to be honest nor do i, but i atleast know what they do myself even if i cant put it in words, i think the basically organise and control the people connecting to your computer and the computers you connect to, so if you add more trackers to one .torrent file, potentially you can increase the number of seeds and consequently your download speed.

not sure if thats helped you..

Thank you. But how do I go about listening to the files i have downloaded when each time I click on them i keep getting this message...I must sound really stupid (sorry!)...?

Im sorry Im so 'unsavvy' with all this...Ive done this but it just brings up the thing Ive already downloaded into 'my music' already. As soon as I click on it to actually listen to it, I get that message. Utorrent says the download is complete, but I cant listen to it because of this message...I just dont understand it, I know it must be simple, Im just so frustrated with it!

when I right click on the file, then press open, I get a dialogue box which lists all the tracks, when I click OK it takes me back to start downloading again. I am not being given any other options?

Sounds wierd! you should get the trackers list in properties (not when you click open), try "open containing folder", or manually go to the drive where in you have assigned the torrent files to be downloaded, open folder.

I downloaded into the 'my music' folder on my PC...when i click either open or properties Im not getting an 'open containing folder' option? Im so confused now...I cant believe this is so complicated, and I really appreciate the help! I wonder if I should delete the whole thing, u torrent and all and start again? I hate computors!!They manage to make things that should be straight forward, really complicated for no apparent reason!

:) Well then the problem doesn't seem to be in µtorrent or in your computer, it seems in your approach towards computers! as you hate them :)

Dont delete the whole thing, you can re run µtorrent, reload the torrent file, re-check the file and try opening containing folder with a right click on the file(if ya wish to open it from µtorrent), I think that should help............... or simply open "my music" where in all your µtorrent(assigned drive/folder) files gets downloaded and enjoy the music.....
