ruXx Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Hello! I'm wondering if it is in any way possible to setup a port range of multiple listening ports. The reason beeing somewhat obscure .You have probably heard about the game Starcraft, and its infamasy for beeing uncooperable with routers. Old tech, non NAT compatible. I tried almost everything with my router, and yet my ports on range 6112-6119 won't open when playing Starcraft.(Includes port forwarding, adding maps through the CLI, turning off firewall, static IP)Then, after some extensive googling, I run across a site that mentions a uTorrent "Trick". That is, to set your listening port on uTorrent to the same as my Starcraft port.Lo and behold, the damn port cracks right open. I'm almost positive this is due to the NAT-PMP protocol(I might be wrong, but the point is it works!). The only hinderance left is getting all the ports from 6112-6119 open. Is there any way to do such a thing?I very much appreciate any response. Thanks in advance.
Harold Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Since you can only set 1 listening port (as far as I know, anyway) you can't do that.Still, manual port forwarding should work - if it doesn't you should really complain about it to the manufacturer, there is absolutely no excuse for it not to work. Are you sure it's NAT-PMP and not UPnP? NAT-PMP is quite rare..
