nicoliani
I have created one torrent a while ago. So far I have shared over 6 GB of it (230 MB original size). This is the only torrent I seed. So whenever someone wants to download my seeded file, will he always download from me personally? Or is it possible someone can download from another seeder that have my file and not use me at all. That is, is the only ones downloading my file, the one's I see in my [Peers] box? If nobody is in my [Peers] then I assume nobody is downloading the file anywhere else too.
DreadWingKnight
Because of the nature of bittorrent, anyone with a sufficient amount downloaded will also start uploading to others. It is possible for people to complete with the original seed long gone. It is also equally possible that the original seed will need to keep coming back to reseed the torrent.Having no one in the peers tab simply means no one is connected to you at that moment. nicoliani
I have one right now in my [Peers] list. Does that mean, no one is downloading my file anywhere else, even from them that are seeding it?
DreadWingKnight
Not necessarily. The only thing I can say is that peers that aren't connected to you may be connected to each other and downloading from each other.
