Minimalist__ Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 I've been downloading a torrent and it's going a bit slow. So I check the 'peers' tab every so often, because staring at it will make it go faster. Anyway, a few minutes ago, a new peer appeared, and in the IP column it has writing '****-computer' (**** to keep anonymity). But the ****-computer is identical to the name of my computer. Am I downloading (and indeed uploading) the file from myself? The percentage done on mine is less than the given percentage on the peer section which makes me think maybe it's just a coincidence. But why is it just writing and not an IP number in the 'IP' column.Any explanation would be appreciate, cheers.
DreadWingKnight Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Reverse dns games again.Turn off resolve IPs on the peers tab.
