Hi, i am new to using uTorrent. I try to download a torrent and every minute or two the error message saying access is denied shows up and the download stops. What is my problem?

@moogly: hijack, how? i contributed to the same issue as the thread starter - with similar problems and commenting on solutions that other members had suggested - but do not seem to work. I dont know anything about hijacking rules, but if it is better, I can of course start a new thread - not for 'my' issue, however, but for the same issue. So?

i think that purely by coincidence i found a (the?) solution to stop/reduce the annoying acess-is-denied-errors - at least for Vista users: switch USER ACCOUNT CONTROL off!

For a complete different reason i disabled Vista's user account control: to easier check the path locks and unlock them with Firon's highly recommended 'unlocker' application. Since then - 5 hours ago the error messages and path (b)locks in utorrent are gone! Complete normal functionality.

So, Vista users, try the same. Let me know if it works.

Did YOU remove my (renewed) detailed post about this issue, in spite of my explanation and without answering me? Is that called net etiquette? My post was 100% related to this thread and a sincere contribution to the same issue! Which I now seem to have solved by myself...

it WAS the same issue, although more detailed and with additional error messages. but the main one was the same access-is-denied-error that started this thread - that is how i found the thread through google... anyhow: i hope i solved the issue - for myself and others.

Hello

I was having the same problem (XP user), and I didn't quite get what that means :

"Did you double-check the security properties on the location you're saving to in order to make sure the account you're using has write permission?"

where are these security properties and where I can see that there's write permission there ?

I've seen someone here recommending on checking the "skip hash checking" and it does help, but isn't there a "healthier" way to overcome this problem ?
