LarryR Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 HiI have some large incomplete downloaded torrents. I have changed/replaced my computer and would like to start uTorrent downloading where I left off. However I have no idea how to put the incomplete torrent onto uTorrent list to enable me to continue downloading rather that starting from scratch. Can you point me to the solutionMany thanksLarry
moogly Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Look at the migration guide: http://www.utorrent.com/migration_guide.phpUse the auto-load procedure if you have a lot of torrents to resume and finish.
LarryR Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 Thanks for your reply moogly. I have read the migration guide very carefully however it does seen to deal with the problem I face. ... "How to put nearly completed large torrent downloads into uTorrent and have them continue until completed. I have changed computers and have my uT incomplete torrent folder. Perhaps I have not understood the guide. Enlighten if possible . Thanks Larry
moogly Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Ok. In uT you need to set for each torrent the good storage location where are your incomplete data.So if each torrent job is still present in uT, stop the torrent, right click, Advanced > Set Dwl Location. Then you choose the folder with your incomplete data. Force a re-check and restart the torrent job.If the torrent is not in the uT window, you need to retrieve the .torrent (from the tracker or your back-up device e.g), reload it in uT and choose the folder with your incomplete data. uT will force a reacheck and continue to download/seed.NB: Of course before formatting or reinstalling the OS, it is better to save the entire contents of folder %appdata%\utorrent with your settings & history. Same thing for your (in)complete data (as you did it) if they are on the same partition..
