L00N Posted January 17, 2009 Report Share Posted January 17, 2009 Hi guys!I left a comment earlier om the slow disk transfer, thinking uTorrent might be fucking up some caching settings in windows.After days of working on this issue, I found that uTorrent might be FRAGMENTING my hard drive to the point of failure - running defraggler on my DL-drive started to cause the same symptoms as I used to have when uTorrent was running.At this point, I can't defrag the drive anymore, so I'm backing up the data, and formatting the drive. Will post here again, when it's done, but I strongly encourage others with like problems to try this as well, so we can see if it really does solve some issues (I'm pretty sure it will, hence starting this post already). But of course, disk fragmentation would indeed cause increased seek times, which can induce disk overloads. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
