jessicaknight
what kind of router do you have?
Switeck
http://www.portforward.com ROUTERS section lists both routers and modems that have NAT (router) features. Did you check to see if your router and modem was on their list?

Switeck
His download hopefully will be at least 250 kilobit/second.His upload is probably only 32-128 kilobit/second -- much lower than his download.Divide by 10 to get USABLE (approximate max sustainable) download and upload speeds in KiloBYTES/second.In my Speed Guide (2nd link in my signature), he'll probably need one of the VERY lowest settings -- anything from lowest dial-up to 128 kilobit/second at most. peegee15
so his max downspeed may be at around 25 kBp/s only? there will be no problems in upspeed though it may be low since he's concerned with the down speed only.. even portforwarding may not help? Switeck
Port forwarding doesn't let you exceed max speeds on your line. And if your upload's real low, nobody but seeds will upload back to you...except for briefly.
