BikeHelmet Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Hello,Last night my computer BSOD'd while I was torrenting some stuff. I restarted the computer, started up uTorrent again, and it reported that resume.dat is corrupted, and I should run chkdsk.I located the file, and tried to delete it, but it kept popping up an error message saying I can't delete corrupted files. So I set chkdsk to scan on reboot. It looked at the file and "fixed" it, turning it into an encrypted folder with no contents that can't be deleted. Now uTorrent still fails to start, and I have a dead/corrupted file on that partition. What's my best option? Wipe out the partition and reinstall Windows, or is there an alternative?-BikeHelmet
schnurlos Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Search the file "resume.dat.old" and copy it to "resume.dat" while utorrent is closed.
