levicki
I am sorry in advance if I am doing something wrong by letting you know about this problem of mine in such a way.So far I didn't have any problems with uTorrent, I am using 1.8.1 stable.Laptop on which I am using it doesn't have any viruses, malware, spyware or network related software (i.e. no firewall except for Windows one which is disabled), I am behind a NAT and ports are properly forwarded on a router. I also didn't make any changes to hardware or software configuration so I am a bit puzzled about this.Last night I had a BSOD 0x3B in AFD.SYS driver (I never had a BSOD since August 2008 when the machine was bought). Vista made a minidump file and I analyzed it using kd. I am attaching the analysis log file where it can be seen that utorrent.exe process was somehow involved in a crash.******************************************************************************** ** Bugcheck Analysis ** ********************************************************************************SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)An exception happened while executing a system service routine.Arguments:Arg1: 00000000c0000005, Exception code that caused the bugcheckArg2: fffffa6006607e2a, Address of the exception record for the exception that caused the bugcheckArg3: fffffa6008f53ba0, Address of the context record for the exception that caused the bugcheckArg4: 0000000000000000, zero.Debugging Details:------------------OVERLAPPED_MODULE: Address regions for 'RDPCDD' and 'cdrom.sys' overlapEXCEPTION_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - The instruction at 0x%08lx referenced memory at 0x%08lx. I am at a loss as to what I could try if it happens again. Any suggestions are welcome.
DreadWingKnight
Do you have a wireless adapter on this system? What chipset does the wireless adapter run on?
levicki
Yes I do, Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN is the wireless card (built-in). Chipset is P45/ICH9M. If you need more info or the actual minidump file let me know.I am curious to learn what happened so I can avoid it in the future. My guess is that power management could have been involved because I leave the laptop with maximum power saving overnight but so far that worked fine so I am a bit puzzled. DreadWingKnight
Some of the intel wireless drivers weren't stress-tested against torrenting and cause the issues.Updates since their initial release APPEAR to solve the issue.
gheorghita.cristain
I subscribe with this post!I`m using Vista Home Premium X64 for few days and uTorrent for 2 years..This is the first time i had problems with it.Indeed my wireless adapter is Intel 3945ABG Wireless Adapter ,but my problem is not the Windows crashing....When i start uTorrent all my network inbound and outbound traffic is blocked...i get no errors!I tried pinging a site....tracerouting something in the Internet..everything works fine...but no traffic trough http ...even IM clients dont log on.I am very dissapointed of this...I tried Bittorrent and it works fine..untill now...but i love uTorrent! levicki
Tried posting three times and couldn't get through. It is the driver+Vista issue. XP works fine.
