goldonsfire
HiI am using Utorrent 1.8.1 currently. I am getting the yellow icon (permanently) with the exclamation mark "indicating a problem with my network configuration". From what ive read, i understand this means your port isnt forwarded correctly. However i am not using a router - just an ethernetI am also using ZoneAlarm free firewall - if this is the problem how do i get it to not limit the connection - when it was first installed i let it "Allow" Utorrent from accessing internet and acting as a server so i dont understand what else i need to do. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?Any help would be much appreciated.Cheers
Switeck
"However i am not using a router - just an ethernet"Means there probably IS an unforwarded router...you just don't know where it's at!If UPnP or NAT-PMP doesn't auto-forward it, you're probably permanently firewalled.Zone Alarm is a very bad software firewall. uTorrent will probably not work correctly with it, due to its very weak packet-handling abilities.Microsoft's Windows Firewall sadly is better.
