uwillc
uTorrent displayed an error for one of my seeding Torrents that I couldn't resolve and so deleted the torrent from the jobs list. But now I want to add the torrent back to the jobs list as a seeder. uTorrent defaults to downloading the torrent. Is this possible, or do I have to create a new torrent? Ultima
When you readd the torrent, make sure you point µTorrent to the correct location on disk for the existing files.
uwillc
How do I do this?Right clicking Properties for the Torrent in my folder doesn't allow me to verify or change the file locations.Doing File/Add Torrent, or simply dragging the torrent from my file to the job list, and then clicking Advanced/Select Download Location only specifies where I want the download to be. moogly
Stop the torrent. Right click > Advanced > Set Dwl Location. Choose the folder where are your data. Restart the torrent.uT will force a recheck (or do it if not) and resume seeding. It's the same procedure when you reload a torrent in uT and you already have the data. Just choose the storage location when the Add New Torrent dialog box appears.
uwillc
I did exactly that. And that's why I'm stuck. The torrent in the job list has the blue download arrow, the DONE column says 0%, and the status says [F] DOWNLOADING or DOWNLOADING, depending upon whether I click FORCE START or START.If I right click the torrent and select CONTAINING FOLDER, the files to which the torrent points properly display. On the chance that there was something wrong with the way I added to torrent to the jobs list, I deleted and then re-added it. moogly
If the torrent is relative to a folder A with various files, you need to point the storage location to A and not to the subfolder containing A. Then force a recheck and restart the torrent.
uwillc
I've figured out what the problem is, but still need help.During the creation of the torrent, I select the storage location but save the torrent as a shortened filename in a different folder that holds all my torrents. But in the jobs list, the torrent name is that of the storage folder, not the shortened filename. This results in an upward red arrow, which uTorrent says is a mismatch from what I'm providing for my torrent site.I deleted the torrent from the jobs list and the torrent folder, and recreated a new torrent. Same problem. The torrent in the jobs list refuses to accept the name I am assigning to it in the bottom field of "Create New Torrent."
moogly
Normally the filename of the .torrent has nothing to do with the filenames of data (folders or files)...And it's the normal behavior, uT doesn't display the name of the .torrent in main window, but the name of the folder or the file.Did you use special symbols in torrent filename ? Which uT version are you using ?
uwillc
Thanks for your interest and help, moogly.I've figured it out. It's a timing issue. The torrent has to be seeding before I instruct the torrent site to fetch it. If I reverse the order, it gets the red "mismatch" arrow.
