atevewr
I have got two doubts which are as follows1.) Is it possible to make an overlay network among some peers, which want to share something, only among their groups. Yes, i know their are private torrent sites, & they use a private tracker, to intercommunicate, but lets suppose 10 users want to make a private network on their own, where they "only" want to talk among themselves.??2.) Does the protocol allows to prioritize users, for instance 10 people are downloading from me, & i want to prioritize a particular leecher, having a low u/l speed, because the BITtorrent protocol won't allow me, as it only favours the person who u/l more. Can this be done & is their a way to standardize this, basically automated.??Thanks in advance.
Switeck
This would require a violation of the spirit if not the letter of the protocol. But that hasn't stopped quite a few programs from making similar "improvements"...like not uploading at all, faking upload/download ratios, etc... atevewr
ohhh, i am sorry if you think that this was out of the spirit of the protocol.but this was only ti understand some more aspects of the protocol..It was just for educational purposes as i am one of a very enthusiastic user of Torrents
Firon
1) You can make a private swarm by keeping the torrent private and distributing it only to "trusted" users.2) The protocol does technically allow you, but clients don't normally let you, since micromanagement of the swarm is bad for the health of the swarm. Switeck
It's basically a distant variation of Sequential downloading (4th link in my signature).
