gameboyz Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 I portforwarded my Comodo firewall 3 using this guide (https://forums.comodo.com/frequently_asked_questions_faq_for_comodo_firewall/tutorial_for_utorrent_with_comodo_firewall_3-t15677.0.html;wap2=) and portforwarded my router from portforward.comHowever the port is still closed when I check with utorrent port checker. help!
gameboyz Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 How do you configure the modemn?
Switeck Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Probably similarly to how you did your router.
gameboyz Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 On Windows Vista I portforwarded only Comodo and Router and it works, now using Windows 7.. :XDon't know why it won't work...
Switeck Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Were you using UPnP or NAT-PMP on Windows Vista?
gameboyz Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 What do you mean? I'm not sure, but I imported the settings.dat and settings.dat.old from my Vista's Appdata to my Windows 7.Oh and just for your information, this is a weird issue. For my Vista, sometimes it is okay and sometimes it's not. I don't know why.
Switeck Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 UPnP can be unreliable if it's mapped multiple times to the same port. For some routers and network cards, TCP may map fine but UDP causes problems when used at the same time on the same port.
gameboyz Posted February 8, 2009 Author Report Posted February 8, 2009 Okay now it's really weird. On my Windows 7, Utorrent's port checker, canyouseeme.org and ping.eu reports my port as closed. However the torrents are all green. On Vista, Utorrent's port checker, canyouseeme.org and ping.eu reports my port as open. However the torrents are red and the error message is something like "Only one connection from protocol" or "Target machine refused connection".Shiz!
Switeck Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Sounds like UPnP acting up.It's trying to map the port for uTorrent...and sometimes for your web browser too.And maybe they're both fighting for control over the same port and locking each other out?
gameboyz Posted February 9, 2009 Author Report Posted February 9, 2009 But "Enable UPnP port mapping" is not checked.. how do I fix it?
Switeck Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Ok, that doesn't sound like uTorrent trying to do UPnP.I really can't think of anything else to try.
