BXDfreedom Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Hello ive been using uTorrent for quite sometime now & its so good than any other torrent downloader outthere... Im using it everyday but every weekends im not home & my computer have other 2 user desktop account that are limited account for my bros/sister,, can i autostart utorrent so i can DL/UP everytime they're usin their desktop account with my user account? I'm manualy starting utorrent on their desktop using run as on the program so it can continue my recent files but i want it to autostart can this be done?
Ultima Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 You can either run it as a service, or add a µTorrent shortcut to the global user startup (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup).
BXDfreedom Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 TY for the reply i added shortcut on the global startup but utorrent is not running as my account instead it running on the account of the user login ill try the run as service later...
Ultima Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Oh, regarding that, you'll want to read this FAQ entry. Keep all files in %appdata%\uTorrent in the same directory as the executable, and it should run the same "install" across multiple users.
BXDfreedom Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 Thank you it works! BTW 1 more q is there a trick that i can do or on registry to not show uTorrent icon on taskbar so other users cant see or modify items on uTorrent app...

Edit the shortcut you created by adding /HIDE at the very end of the target -- making sure that it's outside of any quotations, and that there is at least once space after the existing contents of the target path and the /.
