Masamune Posted February 13, 2009 Report Share Posted February 13, 2009 Hi..In currently in Moscow and my hostel supplies internet connection via ethernet cable through a vpn network..I use utorrent for mac and i don't get a green dot instead i get a red dot..(no incoming connections)I was wondering how do i actually make it green using a vpn connection? kkopriva Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 It is not true. Mostly there are blocked ports for standard PPTP tunnel protocol (GRE). But there are also other VPNs. My provider http://unblockvpn.com have both PPTP and OpenVPN solutions. And OpenVPN is provided on port 80 (HTTP port), so I can be pretty sure, that it will be not blocked anywhere :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Switeck Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 Yes, there are some (even many) VPNs that aren't firewalled at their head-end, at least in part.But if you're trying to use one that is, finding an open port can be impossible...though trying port 80 or another heavily-used port might be worth a shot.
