kewlduud14 Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 udp://tracker.thepiratebay.org:80/announce this url from TPB is coming up invalid and change to http://... seems to be working fine, is this a write error or a problem in TPB's torrents?
moogly Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 UDP tracker is not supported by uT. You can remove it from announce list.
Utorgro Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 If UDP is not supported, why can you not automaticly remove udp adresses when adding the torrent
moogly Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 It's not a problem for the torrent job, the url stays invalid and that's all. And I don't see why uT should remove automatically announces, it's to the user to choose that.
Utorgro Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Moogly, i'll agree that its up to the user to remove the lines that are not valid. But why dont remove udp lines utorrent doesn't support udp so why let them stay in the list.
Ultima Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Just because it's invalid now doesn't mean it needs purging. If, by some miracle, UDP trackers get implemented, and the tracker was already removed automatically, it'll throw out any potential benefits of using UDP.If the URL is invalid, µTorrent simply doesn't use it. Some users leave notes in the trackers list -- does that mean µTorrent should remove those as well? Nope.
