Hello ppl...

I am new to utorrent ...i am using beta1.8.2...i am facing slow download rate.....my port forwarded properly as well...ometimes it truns green then rest it is not even if it turns green then also port aint forwarded properly.....

my firefalls are disabbled...i use kaspersky internet security2009...i dont have router but a wireless connection or modem its speed is 144 kbps i mean my modem speed...its HUAWEI EC325 MODEL...

I CHECKED my upload speed and it says:

Last Result:

Download Speed: 71 kbps (8.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 41 kbps (5.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

i have set net_max halfopen to 80

bandwidth max upload rate to 5

global max number of connections :75

maximu number of peers per torrent:25

no.of slots:2

have enabled all bit torrent except local peer bandwidth

and i have enabled web UI

kINDLY PLZ HELP ME TO SET MY CONNECTIONS CORRECTLY TO GET GOOD DOWNLOAD SPEED SO ALSO UPLOAD....

set net_max halfopen to 8(if u patched ur tcp then 50)

set bandwidth max upload rate to 7 or 6

get a good quality torrent(mininova or demonoid)

Even if you patched Windows TCP half open connection limit above 10, setting net.max_halfopen higher than 20 in your case is pointless. Really, lowering net.max_halfopen and bt.connection_speed to 4 or less makes more sense for your link.

Disable DHT and Resolve IPs.

DHT may be needed for stalled public torrents but is otherwise a waste of bandwidth for you...and you have little to waste!

Global and per-torrent connections need to be much lower.

You can't download faster than 9 KB/sec according to your speed test...so there's little need to have more than 30 total connections. Even if on average it took 3 connections to get 1 KB/sec, you'd still be overloading your link.

In Bandwidth:

Maximum upload rate has been set to(kB/s):7

Global max.no of connections:30

max no of connections per torrent:25

no. of upload slots per torrent:2 &have CHECKED additional upload slots

In Connection:

i have only enabled NAT-PMP Port mappping..rest are disabled and port no.i have choosen:56883

In Bittorrent:

i have disabled DHT NETWORK AND DHT FOR NEW NETWORK REST ARE ENABLED SO ALSO OUTGOING PROTOCOL ENCRYPTION AND HAVE CHECKED INCOMING LEGACY

In Advanced;

net.max_halfopen :18

bt.connect_speeed:4

and yes i have that patch WINDOW TCP AND HAS BEEN SET TO 50...

PLEASE DO TELL ME IF I HAVE SET IT RIGHT OR ANY MORE MODIFICATION NEEDED FOR MY SORT OF CONNECTION IF ANYTHING WRONG I HAVE DONE THEN KINDLY RECTIFY ME...

Yes, that matches what we've said...I hope it works.

Resolve IPs is disabled in the Peers window of an active torrent, just right-click to get the menu.

Hello Moderator..

whatz the resolve IP thing i have loaded ipfilter.dat....from a link they said it helps in increasing speed...so i downloaded it and fixed and in my LOGGER TABLE IT SHOWS:

LOADED IPIFILTER .DAT(219379 ENTRIES)

IPV6 IS INSTALLED

i dont see any option as IP plz kindly guide me wat u wann say me and where i find the option to disable it..i am a new user and learning it ...

So i hope understand my problem

Seems you're probably using Bluetack's massive blocklists...which are complete overkill to block what you probably don't want to connect to.

Did you get a menu to appear when you right mouse button clicked in the PEERS window of an active torrent?

Resolve IPs turns bare ip addresses into something similar to web URL addresses (DNS names)...but it takes bandwidth/speed and slows uTorrent and your computer down slightly.

In addition to my previous post i wann add something that by DISABLING DHT NETWORK UNDER BIT TORENNT SECTION IT SLOWS DOWNS MY DOWNLOAD SPEED WHEN I ENABLES IT THE SPEED IS OK AND ONE MORE I NEED TO BE CLEAR....

1.LOCAL PEER EXCHANGE

2.ASK TRACKER FOR SCRAPER INFORTAMTION

3.PEER EXCHANGE

4.LIMIT LOCAL BANDWIDTH

Should i CHECK these options as well OR UNCHECK THEM....

Kindly tell me as what would be the best config for my sort of slow connection.....

BUT KINDA DROP DOWN WITH THE SPEED...........

WHAT SHOULD I DO....KINDLY ADVICE ME AS WHAT SHOULD I DO...SPEED IS ETTING LOWER I AM NEW USER ALTHOUGH I KNOW MY CONECTION IS SLOW BUT WAS NEVER THAT SLOW....

i apologize for that....here is what my problem is...

By disabling DHT....my download speed has fallen.if i enable it shows me kinda better speed.....

i want to know if i should CHECK or UNCHECK these following options:

1.LOCAL PEER EXCHANGE

2.ASK TRACKER FOR SCRAPER INFORMATION

3.PEER EXCHANGE

4.LIMIT LOCAL BANDWIDTH

Another thing If i resolve IP then on logger tab there is no incoming connection and the IP looks like...ADDSL-156-98-40.ASM.BELLSOUTH.NET{UTP} client:utorrent 1.8.1 flags:D HXE %100

and the speed drops in this case....

if i dont resolve it then the same IP appears as

IP:66.156.98.40{UTP} client:utorrent 1.8.1 flags:D HXE %100

and speed is ok better...

Kindly tell me what is the right configuration for me...

I hope this time it helped u to understand what i am asking for......

Leave RESOLVE IPS disabled...that costs bandwidth AND makes additional connections.

1.LOCAL PEER DISCOVERY DISABLE!

2.ASK TRACKER FOR SCRAPER INFORMATION Leave Enabled

3.PEER EXCHANGE Leave Enabled

4.LIMIT LOCAL BANDWIDTH doesn't matter

DHT does NOTHING for private torrents...and if it helps on public torrents, are those torrents virtually devoid of seeds and peers?

My download speed has gone down than what it was in beginning even with torrents with good seeding and health the download speed is not more than 0.8 kB/s not sure why,,,it use to be 3kB/s at least....in peek times.....

Plz do help me mate.. i did wat u told me to do with the exact configuration thing.....but it made things worse.. i feel helpless...kindly help me

well i have lowered and not much its using at same time just chat messenger i use..net max halfopen and bt connect are already lower asu have told me before.....

some people told me to use utorrent speedbooster....is it worth...

All utorrent speedbooster does is change some uTorrent settings to make uTorrent ATTEMPT to connect to many ips at once...possibly screw with your windows settings in nonstandard and probably very unhelpful ways...and probably install spyware/adware/trojan/viruses as well!

You're trying to squeeze more bandwidth out of a VERY SLOW connection. If it's not there, you can't get it.

When i download a file from Rapidshare or netload the download speed remains as 8kB/S in peek times in lower times it used to be 4kB/S...why its so low over here...Plz do tell me....

Only advanced settings with an * next to them have been changed from default values...and the only 2 of those are:

bt.connect_speed:*4

net.max_halfopen:*18

...Which I already pointed out about net.max_halfopen being better when set lower than default for your connection, since it's slow.

Your ISP simply sucks bad. It's not just slow...it's unreliable even for its slow speeds!

When it is "slow", find out what the REST of your computer+network is doing.

Is there any network-using applications generating more connections? (check via TCP View)

If you have a bandwidth monitoring program, is the traffic amounts higher than what you're seeing in uTorrent by a lot?

How much of Process Explorer and HijackThis! logs have you deciphered? (Maybe there's some bad stuff on your computer...such as viruses/trojans?)

Hello Mate...

All of a sudden i see my port isnt forwarding there is red signal....it was use to be green after u told me to make require configuration...however it is still able to download file but the port forward signal is red not even yellow...i am not sure why cuz in beginning it was always yellow then after the required changes i made recommnded by you it became green but today when i opened it is red....ahh u told me to hijack my log file here it is:
