Rayne
About a week ago I downloaded utorrent version 1.8.2, but since then I've been having problems with it. Whenever I open up utorrent, it runs just fine for about half a minute, then it just freezes. If I try to click on it a couple times it give me the "not responding" message at the top of it. Bringing up task manager tells me that it's not responding as well. If I minimize utorrent, I cannot get it to maximize again. I've tried switching to the process, just letting it sit there for a while, and closing all other applications, but utorrent simply won't respond. I've tried uninstalling it, then downloading and installing it again, but I get the same problem. Deleting the utorrent folder from my C:\ drive hasn't helped either. I even tried to download the older version: utorrent 1.8.1, but I have the exact same problem with it. I would have tried downloading 1.7.7, but it's not available anymore. If it helps, I've noticed that it only freezes when a torrent is downloading. If I'm not downloading anything, it works just fine, but in either case, it also makes loading web pages in firefox slow down to a crawl. How can I fix the problem?I looked through the troubleshooting secion and the forum topics and haven't found anything that would help me fix the problem. As far as I know, I'm not running any software that would interfere with utorrent's processes (norton, spyware detectors, etc.)
