Ultima
@chas: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=48382#p48382Realize the date of the post you're referring to. It's over one year old, and is extremely outdated. µTorrent 1.6 includes a new cache system that can be modified as described here.

jewelisheaven
It is a reported problem with speeds in excess of 100BaseT connections. As stated the main problem is windows' cacheing mechanism, which is why some people find that manually increasing disk cache helps alleviate the complete stall. What kind of download speeds are you seeing which causes the overload?
pinkISH
My download speed is 9 or 10MB/s. Yes, MegaBytes. And I get disk overloads all the time. I have a fast computer, sata drives, they're defragged... I don't know what to do.
ajones81
Which version are you using? Have you tried the new 1.8 line to see if it's any better? (I'd recommend you test it as a stand-alone encapsulated version for now as it's still pre-release).
zYx
Hi,I got that message too, Disk Overloaded 100%uTorrent 1.7.7Vista Ultimate 2GB ram, all hard drives are NTFS and there is room.I have 8mbps/832kbps adsl and since I updated uTorrent from 1.7.6 to 1.7.7 i got that message. Also my pc freezes, i can't run any application, i can't even turn my computer of or restart it. Olny hard reset helps...Any solution please?
jewelisheaven
zyx, separate issue please make your own thread and include the requested logfiles. Also include a picture or text copy of your Speed Guide (Ctrl-G) settings. 8Mbit down shouldn't be mucking THAT much with your hard drives, unless you're trying to run > 4 torrents. A simple fix for this overload message (which in 1.8 doesn't always say 100%) is to use RAID. Yes it's not "simple" for old hardware.. but that's the main bottleneck. zYx
Ok, but i didn't get that message in previous versions or if i did it was for a few seconds and dissapeared and uTorrent was fine. Once I get home I will post some more info.
