Drackyn
My apologies if this has been asked before, but I did a quick search of the forum and found other posters with similar problems but not this exact one. I have several torrents that were completed before I replaced my old HD and I find that uTorrent is not checking to see if I already have the files when I load them. I've placed both the torrents and the completed files in the directory uTorrent downloads to and set uTorrent to auto-load from this directory, which it does not do. Furthermore, the 'Force-Recheck" option is grayed out so I cannot select it. Is there something I'm missing? I'd really like to upload these files so I can share with the community instead of leeching them, but uTorrent starts downloading them every time I start it and never checks for the files that are already there. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
schnurlos
For "Force Recheck" a torrent has to be stopped. When you stopped it, you can rightclick it, advanced, set download location and point to your downloaded files. After that start the torrent again. And check the folder settings, where finished torrents should be stored. Drackyn
Oops, I forgot to specify this in my original post, but 'Force-Recheck' remains grayed out even when the download is stopped; that's the problem. Is there an alternative way to force a recheck?
DreadWingKnight
Are you actually stopping or just pausing?
Drackyn
Definitely stopping, not pausing.
Firon
You've stopped the torrent, made sure it's the only torrent selected before right clicking and it's still greyed out? This is on 1.8.2?
