parabol
All right, I have a actiontec m1000 and a d-link wireless router. I have my router set to port forward but I also need to do my modem because its also a router. Now do I have to forward from my modem to my router? Also when I tried that and I was told that my subnet's didn't match. Should I change that? Now my modems ip is129.168.0.1 subnet 255.255.255.000 my router's ip is 172.16.0.1 sub net 225.225.0.0 and my pc is 172.16.0.11 and subnet 255.255.0.0. If you can make anything of this I would appreciate any info. Thanks
Switeck
See if there's an option to put the modem in bridge mode, disabling the router functions in it almost entirely.Barring that, yes you have to forward the modem to the router's WAN ip address.
