trandoanhung1991 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 I recently start to upload a torrent of mine. About 3/4 way through the upload, PEX shows 2 seeders, sometimes up to 6 seeders, while I haven't even finished uploading the whole thing yet. In addition, my torrent is unique. Why is this? Should I trust PEX?Oh and, only PEX shows the extra seeders, all the trackers I use all report 1 seeder only.
Switeck Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Your IP is probably changing, so the trackers see each switch as a "new seed".
trandoanhung1991 Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Not the tracker, but Peer Exchange.
Ultima Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 I would still find that odd. PEX doesn't have anything like scrape, so the only way to know if a peer sent through PEX is a seed is to connect to it. If you're the only seed (trandoanhung1991 is supposed to be the only seed), and your IP changed, you would be completely unable to connect to the old IP anyway to verify that the peer supposedly at that old IP is a seed. A changed IP doesn't seem at all like a logical explanation to me (though I can't really say I have any explanations of my own).
