Gravale Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I've set up port forwarding for UTorrent. I now want to adjust my firewall settings for Utorrent. Utorrent is already permitted in the firewall: UDP - in/out - any port; TCP - in/out - any port. My question is: Instead of 'any port' in these situations should I change it to the port I've chosen in port forwarding? If so, do I change ALL of them to the chosen port or just some? Thanks for your assistance.
moogly Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 What is your firewall?Sticky about setting firewalls: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=7862
Gravale Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 I'm using Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5. Unfortunately it's not on the list in the sticky.Would you see any problem with the following?:TCP - In - [forwarded port]Local port - [forwarded port]TCP - Out - anyUDP packets - In - anyUDP packets - out - [forwarded port]Local port - [forwarded port]
jerome Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 TCP - In - [forwarded (local) port] - any distant portsTCP - Out - anyit is enough to work and get green lightthen I would add :UDP - Out - anyUDP - In - [forwarded (local) port] - any distant portsYou have to set [forwarded port] as a local port not as a distantand do not forget to set the same port in uT options
Gravale Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 Thanks very much, Jerome. That was very helpful and well explained.
