Grave
why is it whenever i start hash checking all the uploads go to crapper (basically stopped/autothrottled by utorrent)and its not a hardware/hdd issue because other clients have no trouble whatsoever
Firon
The code for disk I/O is single threaded, which causes this. Not much you can do about it except wait until it's done hash checking, unfortunately. In the future this may be changed.
Martin Levac
That must be why I also see upload drop at random intervals with large pieces (>4MB). At first I thought It was a problem with my connection.ML
Grave
i see, thanks for the replyso this might also cause the problems when i download at ok speeds and utorrent cant keep up and fills "pieces" tab with thousands of pieces waiting to be processed? Firon
No, the only thing that can happen is "Disk overloaded" om the status, which can kill your speeds at a certain point because the disk can't keep up when going at really high speeds. In any case, raising the queue size would fix that.
Grave
it doesnt say disk overloaded in status bar, disk isnt going crazy (raptor) and cpu usage is in teens. the piece queue just fills in with finished pieces (darkblue) which have each one block as midblue (btw whats the meaning of the hues/blocks? dark=finished/mid=check/light=downloading?)by ok speed i mean downloading at 3-5 mbyte/sec/torrent.e.g. bitcomet doesnt have this problem even with multiple torrents each running at this speed
Firon
If you don't see disk overloaded, then nothing's wrong.Seeing lots of pieces like that is normal, it takes up to 30 seconds for µTorrent to flush data to disk. Read the FAQ if you wanna know what all the colors mean.
