snajo
When downloading a single torrent, my upload speed keeps going up and down, and with it my download speed. To illustrate this (and my settings), I made a screenshot (1680×1050): http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9523/utorrentweird2censoredp.pngI set all speed and connection settings up according to the settings for 20Mbit here: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=34259&p=1 (yeah I have a pretty solid connection )It probably has something to do with optimistic unchoke, since that happens every 30 seconds, exactly the frequency of my speed fluctuations. Every 30 seconds, approximately 10 peers are disconnected ("disconnect: timeout due to inactivity" in the log).I also continuously get messages "disconnect: connection closed", about 10-20 in 30 seconds. It has nothing to do with my firewall. I couldn't check if the router was involved in this, because I have no access to it (central university router). I don't think it's network throttling (I'm on university network, they allow virtually everything), but who knows.Does anyone have an idea how this problem is caused, and how it could be solved?PS: I run windows 7 beta, but I don't think that has anything to do with the problem. DreadWingKnight
And you based your settings on your download speed or your upload speed? It looks like you're maxing out your connection's allocation.
snajo
The speed settings are based on my up speed, as they should be. I just did another speedtest, the result:Are these settings correct? Or should I try certain setting changes (what changes)?
