When I download a torrent...

I have used utorrent for some time and I am enjoying it. I had a virus in my computer so I totally reformatted my computer (way over due) and then reinstalled utorrent 1.82.

When i try to download a torrent, they are successful in downloading but the torrent now becomes a unrecognizable file that cannot be opened up.

Has anyone ever experienced this before and what could be causing it?

I wonder if I have to have any other additional software in my computer for the torrent to be downloaded correctly.

My firewall and antivirus all have utorrent as an exception, so vital info is no being blocked.
