nvious62 Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 i am having problems with my download speeds. im running windows xp 64 service pack one and 8gb ram 1 tb hard drive. my internet connection is dsl through shentel in my area. my connection is DSL Connect Rate (Down/Up) 3072 KBits/Sec by 768 KBits/Sec. but i download torrents that have good number of seeds but the speeds is slow usually under a 100kb. I have went through the set up guide completely and thoroughly word for word. Tried all the tips and tricks but yet still slow speeds. did static ip, portforwarding, set up router all that and everything is good. and my internet service provider does not throttle. im at wits end any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

DreadWingKnight Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 What speed setting category have you been using?Have you verified that you are reachable?
Switeck Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Do you have any bad/weak networking hardware or software that might be acting as a bottleneck?
nvious62 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 the speed i been using was 640 it was closest to the one that the speed test said. as for the bad or weak networking hardware or software that is bottlenecking what is some examples not for sure what you mean on that.
Switeck Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Zone Alarm, many routers, wireless, USB network cards...
nvious62 Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 no not using none of them. was wondering i mean im on the 3mb plan download with 768 up. was wondering if it would help any my provider has a 5mb down but still only 768 up will that help with speeds?
Switeck Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 No, speeds in uTorrent (both kinds) are highly limited by your upload speed max.
