fonetik Posted January 28, 2006 Report Share Posted January 28, 2006 Yesterday, and today, AVG antivirus mail scanner has popped up showing something trying to send mail to ip141-58-173-82.dyndsl.versatel.nl:110As i was only running uTorrent at the time, i thought i had a virus or something... But, looking at the logs from AVG antivirus mail scanner, the process trying to email is in fact uTorrent:28.1.2006 16:00:13 AutoPOP3(10110): Connection from process 304828.1.2006 16:00:13 AutoPOP3(10110): Connection from 127.0.0.1:376228.1.2006 16:00:13 AutoPOP3(10110): Client connected28.1.2006 16:03:14 AutoPOP3(10110): Cannot connect to ip141-58-173-82.dyndsl.versatel.nl:11028.1.2006 16:03:14 AutoPOP3(10110): Connect: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. (10060)28.1.2006 16:03:14 AutoPOP3(10110): Client disconnectedTask Manager confirms:utorrent.exe PID3048A virus scan and spyware scan found no other dodgy programs on my computer.Why is uTorrent trying to send out emails? Is there spyware built in to it?I only noticed this as it is failing to connect... has uTorrent been sending secret emails off in the background successfully before now???
