Yesterday, and today, AVG antivirus mail scanner has popped up showing something trying to send mail to ip141-58-173-82.dyndsl.versatel.nl:110

As i was only running uTorrent at the time, i thought i had a virus or something... But, looking at the logs from AVG antivirus mail scanner, the process trying to email is in fact uTorrent:

28.1.2006 16:00:13 AutoPOP3(10110): Connection from process 3048

28.1.2006 16:00:13 AutoPOP3(10110): Connection from 127.0.0.1:3762

28.1.2006 16:00:13 AutoPOP3(10110): Client connected

28.1.2006 16:03:14 AutoPOP3(10110): Cannot connect to ip141-58-173-82.dyndsl.versatel.nl:110

28.1.2006 16:03:14 AutoPOP3(10110): Connect: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. (10060)

28.1.2006 16:03:14 AutoPOP3(10110): Client disconnected

Task Manager confirms:

utorrent.exe PID3048

A virus scan and spyware scan found no other dodgy programs on my computer.

Why is uTorrent trying to send out emails?

Is there spyware built in to it?

I only noticed this as it is failing to connect... has uTorrent been sending secret emails off in the background successfully before now???
