Leftylolz Posted April 18, 2009 Report Share Posted April 18, 2009 SO i've set up my router to forward 6888 and I have also downloaded portforward.com's port checker. Utorrent is on my exception list and yet both the u torrent port check and portforward's port check all release a error or non responsive port on anything i try. I have set up a static ip to 192.168.0.2. and my router is the dynex e-401. any suggestions? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Switeck Posted April 18, 2009 Report Share Posted April 18, 2009 Delete all port forwarding attempts and try a different port between 10000-65535.If that doesn't work...check for software firewalls (hidden in antivirus, antispyware, and spyware) that can be blocking. Well I'm going to try something when I get home from work. I'm on a router and my parents just got a new modem from linksys. Ima check the model and see what it is.I haven't checked if the modem has a firewall on it. If its the modem is there a link like your signature for a fix? (It may even be buggy!)You have to go into the router's settings and delete old entries telling it to forward a port number or number range to a LAN ip. (presumably your computer's LAN ip...but possibly changed?)Once the old entries are deleted, try to make a new port forwarding rule using what LAN ip your computer is currently using.The same must be done on Linksys routers (which I have.) uTorrent can try to get the router to auto-forward with UPnP enabled in uTorrent AND on the router AND in windows...but it usually doesn't work because neither Microsoft nor many router companies can agree on how UPnP is supposed to work. Leftylolz Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 20, 2009 I have not checked the model number of the modem but I deleted the old entries and I just have one forwarded to my lan ip. I forward the port 61191 and I checked it with the utorrent port check and the port checker software and they both report open. Speed is still low or inconsistant high speed but probably only because the file had ponly like 6 seeds lol. Thanks man it seems my router was also blocking my lan ip but allowsing the static i had chosen earlier so I disabled the static ip and enabled the lan ip I acquired.
