Metadeath Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 OK i have looked through sever bitorrent sites and forums, port foward ect ect and i cant fix my issue. Using a popular torrent site, which i havent had any issue speed wize in the past im getting the yellow triangle saying no inc connections. So what am i doing wrong? My port im using is fowardedFirm 1.0.15DHCP Server EnabledFirewall Both router, modem, and XP disabled.DMZ disabledUPnP Enabledidk im stuck
Switeck Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Did you port forward your router? Is your computer using a static LAN ip address OUTSIDE the router's DHCP LAN ip range?
Metadeath Posted April 21, 2009 Author Report Posted April 21, 2009 Hmm how would i know if its outside that range?my ip is a static 192.168.0.101so what would i need to aim for?
Switeck Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 The router has settings for DHCP, check them.Have DHCP start at say 192.168.0.150 and end at 192.168.0.179 -- not like you'll need more than 30 dynamic ips probably anyway, and the more the router uses the slower it may run and the fewer external ip-to-ip connections the router can handle at once.
Metadeath Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 After doing more searching im getting a tad more irritated. I have done the glasnot test, i get green lights all the way across.(port 10010)-In our tests a TCP download achieved at least 400 Kbps while a BitTorrent download achieved at most 520 Kbps-In our tests a TCP download achieved at least 1067 Kbps while a BitTorrent download achieved at most 1104 Kbps(port 6882)In our test, a TCP download on a BitTorrent port achieved at least 1100 Kbps while a TCP download on a non-BitTorrent port achieved at least 1067 KbpsIn our test, a TCP upload on a BitTorrent port achieved at least 419 Kbps while a TCP upload on a non-BitTorrent port achieved at least 400 KbpsI saw a post about NOD32 causing issues so i figured i uninstall and try it. Still getting crap results.I mean i have used TBP and Demonoid for a few years no with no traffic issues. I have a torrent with 6k seeds and i connect to about 50 of them off the bat and still getting speeds of 20-50kbps, that just shouldnt be. Just for s and g's i fowarded AND triggered port 6882 and still getting crap speeds. So maybe, and i dont wanna, scrap utorrent and try another torrent client?
Switeck Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 It is best to use a port in the 10000-65535 range. Ports 6880-6900 are crippled by many ISPs. Even if yours doesn't connecting to those that do can reduce speeds.Try the test torrents (1st link in my signature). See if their download speeds are crap.If you're going to try another BitTorrent client, I recommend Deluge. (This because it is not as unwieldy or hostile/bad as others.)
Metadeath Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 See i have no issue with openoffice dl'ding. Its just dosent make sense that two different sites that have NEVER given me any issues are acting up. I mean i guess its plauseable but with such a seed saturation one would think that speed would be better, even IF 3/4ths of thoes seeds were mediocre connections.Edit:I have the option to open ports in the modem itself, which i did. Trying deluge yielded no different results. Now im on a network with My laptop, my inlaws pc, and my tower (which is perma-offline atm damn windows crash) so could the inlaws pc have anything to do with it?Our network is set up as so[Modem]ZyNOS F/W Version: V3.40(ACZ.5) | 09/11/2006DSL FW Version:TI AR7 07.00.02.00Standard:ADSL_GTo[Router]WRTU54G-TM v1.00.15, Dec. 05, 2008Then Hardwire to inlaws pc.And im wireless.Could the inlaws pc be having any impact on the connections? Its killing me because i KNOW im missing some stupidly small detail.
Switeck Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 "Could the inlaws pc be having any impact on the connections?"Yes, IF it's on and has a virus (or something else on it) that's using the vast majority of your bandwidth. But in other words, probably not. What about uTorrent's LOGGER window?Does it show lots of failed connection attempts? No incoming connections there?
Metadeath Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 well i know for sure that pc is clean. The logger window comes up with nothin but white blank nothingness
Switeck Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 It is very strange the Logger window is blank!Did you right-click in the Logger window and make sure uTorrent is actually trying to log most conditions?Quite a few trackers have shut down very suddenly, especially those in Sweden.
