Metfan72
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had an issue where you can seed torrents that you have downloaded, but when I create my own torrent to seed, it will not go.Any suggestions as in order to obtain a decant ratio anywhere you eventually have to seed sometimes and this is now the 2nd torrent that has sputtered.HELP!!! Ultima
No tracker errors? Any peers in the peers list? Have you redownloaded the .torrent file after uploading it to the tracker?
Metfan72
Nope, no tracker errors, have 5 peers connected and everything was uploaded quickly.Just don't understand how I can seed other torrents that I download, but upon creating my own it just won't go.Ports are forwarded, DMZ is open in router everything is configured properly, just can't seem to upload my own torrents. Ultima
... My questions pertain to your own torrents, not the torrents you've downloaded and then seeded. Unless you connected to 5 peers on your own torrents with fast uploads, in which case I'm confused.
Metfan72
Well I went through all the steps already a few times. I uploaded and then downloaded my own torrent, I am the seeder and there are 5 leechers, but torrent can't seem to latch and go. Speed goes up to 5kb's and then steadily declines again and takes roughly 10 minutes for that process to repeat itself.Again, I have configured everything properly and this is now the 2nd time I have attempted to upload something only for it to just sputter and leechers getting frustrated and dropping out.Was just looking for suggestions or alternatives as I think I have done all that I can, but maybe some small detail I am missing might help it go.Thanks for your help thus far. Ultima
Are you using Initial Seeding? If so, can you disable it?As well, your ISP (Rogers) is known to throttle BitTorrent. I'm not sure why they'd make a distinction between self-uploaded .torrent files and previously-downloaded .torrent files, but who knows what goes through the ISP managements' heads. Metfan72
Never use Initial seeding and I have a feeling it is my ISP blocking incoming connections. Strange that I can seed other things that I have taken from someone else, but can't seed my own.Seems like an isolated problem as not too many have heard of this issue. Switeck
Do you have Teredo and uTP connections disabled?Running v1.8.3 beta? (the best)Oh, 3rd link in my signature 3rd quote...and I'm sorry.
Metfan72
I have Teredo installed and uTP connections enabled and LMFAO at me being on Rogers ISP.Guess us Canadians seem to run into a multitude of trouble with this ISP.
Switeck
Rogers Cable in Canada cripples BitTorrent by limiting upload speeds often to single digit KB/sec.It might go faster sometimes...but only because you're uploading to another Rogers customer!Protocol Encryption is unlikely to work, as Rogers throttles EVERYTHING that they don't like AND don't recognize. But try it anyway...Some 'extreme' hiding tricks to try to get better speeds:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=361747#p361747Using these...your download speeds could suffer horribly, because you'll be limited to VERY few peers/seeds that can connect. Metfan72
Hey guys, Thanks for all the help.It really is appreciated. The problem here in Ontario, Canada is that we are limited to only 1 broadband supplier. Our other main ISP is Bell and there are DSL and only offer 60 up/down per month and then you have to pay for overages. Here with Rogers for the same monthly, it is 95GB up/down and MAX $25.00 when you go over. So although it is a piss off to be throttled, Rogers is hands down the better of the 2 main ISP's.Guess I have to live with that and limit my downloads in order for my ratio to stay healthy. Thanks again. Switeck
Are the Bell resellers such as TekSavvy in your area?Once you figure out what Rogers limits you to, you can reduce uTorrent's settings so of what little you get MOST of it is directly spent on uploading to peers.
