Straightforward question. Straightforward answer.

Sorry for asking such a simple question but just want to stop fiddling with all the little settings.

Been messing with utorrent for awhile now wondering why I get 100 kB/s( and it jumps around a lot 50-100) on average when my rate is usually 800kB/s. I have taken speed reports and DLd one of the suggested sample torrents from here, and gotten around 800kB/s.

So my question is if I get 100kB/s from a torrent, and then I get 800kB/s from a sample torrent. Then most likely I have no( or minimal) problems with connection/settings and it is just the torrent itself?

Most likely yes this is correct. Your settings may need minor tweaking (+/- 5kbyte/sec upload at a time, small changes to number of peer connections, or running 1-2 fewer torrents at a time) to get working optimally.

Are you uploading 100+ KB/sec?

If you're uploading more than 2 times faster than you're downloading AND you're on a torrent with both many and a decent mix of peers+seeds, then there's probably something wrong with your settings/computer/connection.
