andrea09
Gentlemen:I have 100 kbits connection speed and I'm downloading at a paltry 20 kbits. In my mind that should leave 80% of my bandwidth available? I have nothing! I can barely read email, attachments are out of the question, browsing is incredibly slow. What happened to the rest of my bandwidth? Thanks - rev(and why is there a yellow bar through the middle of this message window

Switeck
Do you mean uTorrent's down speeds is 20 when browsing is incredibly slow?
andrea09
Yes. When downloading is at say, 20 kbits/sec, all web related functionality goes to hell. Email is really slow, attachments are impossible and browsing is really slow. So, I pause the downloads when I need to attach a pic or MP3 to an email. But when I restart them, seeds have vanished and my new speed is half, hence my earlier post 'Seeds vanish after reboot', which I still haven't understood or solved.Onward and upward - I followed one of the tuts about bandwidth issues made all the suggested changes. I ended up with 0. 0 kbits, 0 seeders, 0 peers, and 0 happiness. Of *course* I hadn't writted down all the settings I'd changed...After MUCH ado, I got back to where I was before I started complaining I'm ready to start again now!rev
Switeck
uTorrent's download and upload speeds are KiloBYTES/second.20 KiloBYTES/second download takes about 170-200 kilobits/second bandwidth.Didn't you say you only have 100 kbits connection speed? andrea09
I don't know megabits from shinola but it's 100 of whatever. Whatever is the lowest basic subscription you can get.
