unable to download

Everything was going fine. I was downloading about 3 files and nearly 80% was done, suddenly the portable u torrent crashed. when i restarted, i noticed that under 'status' there was this error message can't open .torrent file: C:\utorrent... The file path appears to have changed from K (USB port) to C:. I am not sure what I have to do as I have downloaded nearly 1.5GB. Can someone help? Thanks! Could it be a virus?

You can change the drive letter in disk manager of Windows to retrieve the previous one. Then apply a forced recheck to your torrent (stop it before).

In addition you can post Hijackthis log to see why uT can crash.

2 possible sources of crashing: SUPERAntiSpyware and maybe a module of KIS 7.

You can try to uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware and check if crashing continues.

If that's not the case, post Process Explorer log when uT is running.

Select utorrent.exe and enable DLL mode (ctrl+d).

First step, only uTorrent stable 1.8.2 is supported here, so upgrade your client.

Second step, the culprit is surely SuperAdBlocker, so remove it completely from your computer and test if uT continues to crash.

If not, one module of KIS is surely the culprit.

Firstly how do I remove SuperAdblock. It is not listed in the add/remove program list. Is it part of superantispyware? If so, I have already remove it. Secondly, this is the first time this has happened.

Also, as required by you, I could not find the .dmp file? Another thing I observed was that when I copied the entire utorrent folder to the drive specified by it i.e. C drive, I got the following error message:

cannot copy main movie re rip ... The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Incidentally the files that were being downloaded are still in the original location. The path identified by utorrent has changed, hence the utorrent window indicates error: can't open .torrent file. How do i change back the path.

It's not all the way gone just based on your process explorer list.

Just put back the .torrents files where they were previously.

You have seriously to choose a SAFE drive and folder to save your .torrents files, it's very important.

Go to Preferences > Directories for future torrents added into uT.

To change the path of your data (if you moved them e.g.), you can use freeware BEncode Editor (http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31306) to edit resume.dat (in folder %appdata%\utorrent, keep one copy if you have a pbm later) and use function find/replace to change the drive letter. Then save it and start uT.

If the partition is corrupt, run chkdsk.

When I first started using utorrent my downloads were working fine. After a couple of weeks and some tinkering with the settings, the downloads... don't download. The arrows next to them are red and pointing down. Once in a while a certain download will start working at a low speed but then it stops. How can I get my downloads to work again (all of them and at their normal speed)? By the way I've updated my utorrent version since I messed with the settings so I don't if that's it anymore. Also it might have something to do with my port or portfowarding (whatever that is). Someone please help, I'm lost with this stuff.

im too lazy to do that much reading. can you just tell me what the red arrows mean cause i know my utorrent doesnt work but it used to. im pretty sure its something with port fowarding but my modem isnt listed on the list. its an RCA one i think from time warner cable. Time Warner supplied modem.. is that the only device between your cable and your PC? You could always reset your settings.
