munk787
I am on an XP sp3 machine, utorrent 1.8.2 and Zone Alarm firewall. Let's say I have specified port 53000 in uTorrent for my traffic. After I have been downloading or seeding for a very short while, the application bans/blocks the port. I have to go in every half hour or so and choose to "reset bans".I tried a different firewall (I think I did the Nod suite) but it did not help. I am not being banned by other users for sending bad data, it is my set up banning me.Why?Thanks for the help.

Switeck
Permanently ban your LAN ip, your internet ip, and loopback ips that your firewall is using in ipfilter.dat...and then you probably won't be able to "reset bans".
munk787
DreadWingKnight - Why do you think you have to do this? - traffic drops to zero. After I "un-ban" it resumes.Switeck - I already use recommended settings. Additionally, my upstream is never more than 75% and I limit my active torrents to 8 total.Instead of spending dozens of hours wading through forum posts, I was rather hoping I could post the issue here and get a reply from someone who knew the answer. Ultima
Why? Because there is absolutely no reason µTorrent should be connecting to itself, and banning its own IP is the simplest way to prevent that from happening.
