unix110011
and when I check to see if the random port I had chosen is open, it says it is still closed. I added expert rules in my zonealarm for the utorrent program to allow that port, on TCP and UDP.restarted both zonealarm and u torrent. and still nothing. my netgear router works fine. it had UpnP on. When I shutdown zonealarm, THEN utorrent works fine with a green light. BUT WHY? I added the rules to allow my port!!HELP!!! Thank you.
moogly
ZA with Vista is a major source of issues with uT and other torrenting applications. Do you have Vista? If yes, uninstall ZA and install another firewall less buggy like Comodo (freeware).
unix110011
hey moogly. i like your avatar. YES. I am on Vista home premium. I hate it. I wish I could put XP on this gateway Ltop, but I cant figure it out. My subscription of 1 year is up in 142 days but I am thinking of switching to Tiny Pro or yes, even comodo. Thanks moogly. moogly
If you try Comodo, there is a tutorial here to set it (check sticky http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=7862). ZA hooks applications like uT occuring freezing etc...ZA seems to be more stable with WinXP.
