TomB
Hi all,I'm running a Windows XP Professional SP3 descktop PC with a cable connection. I use Zone Alarm Extreme but have shut down the firewall. All setup steps and suggested settings have been followed.I have a Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem and a Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router connected to the system. We are constantly losing the internet connection while downloading movies from Isohunt.I have used PFConfig to open the port on the Linksys Router. Do I need to do the same with the Motorola Surfboard Modem?Any help in stabilizing my internet connection would be appreciated.Tom

TomB
DreadWingKnightThanks for the quick reply. Firewall is deactivated within the Zone Alarm Suite. Not Uninstalled, this is my spyware and virus program also.I have made all the change suggested in the link except Disable IP Resolving. I don't find it anywhere. Also, do I need to open ports in both the router and the modem?Tom
DreadWingKnight
Unfortunately, ZoneAlarm is one of those programs that doesn't disable properly until uninstalled.Peer IP resolution is a right-click option on the peers tab.Yes you need to open ports in both the router and modem as well. TomB
Deadwingknight,Thanks. Not sure what to do about Zone Alarm. I just paid for a two year renewal and can't afford to pay again.May have to live with the problem.Tried to right click on Peer tab. Nothing happens.Tom
