xeno1234
Why does my modem keep dropping its connection to my isp when torrent download goes above 50kB/s?Used utorrent for years no problem. But about six months ago, started having an issue. when my download speed goes above 50kB/s for longer than 30 sec to a min, my isp modem drops the connection. No internet, no downloads. only way to sort it is to unplug the modem and plug it back in. If i limit my download speed to below 50kB/s, then no problem, it'll keep downloading 24/7. My wireless router (belkin 54g) is fine when the connection drops (i can still IP into it). My isp is Virgin (i'm in the uk), not sure what my modem is off the top of my head, little silver box which i'm sure i have had since i joined "cable and wireless" which became "NTL" which is now "Virgin".anybody got any ideas? are the isp being naughty? or is it my modem or what. Just for the record, i have no problem streaming video at 10Mb/s all day long, it's only on torrents. Please help, my life is running through the hour glass at the terrible download speeds, i might have to take up motorway truck wrestling! Switeck
Virgin Media in the UK cable ISP?They turned evil...But your problem could be a flakey modem or bad settings in uTorrent.
