svgmzr
I'm occasionally getting "device not ready" error with my 1TB Hitachi drive. I didn't add or remove other drives. Are there some settings which I could use to solve this problem?
jewelisheaven
Where is this? What kind of error? What software are you running for AV / security.

jewelisheaven
So this is an external drive, in an enclosure? Is it possible the connection to the USB hub or your computer is inconsistent? i.e. does the dongle connecting the USB cable to the back of the drive bend at an odd angle? svgmzr
as i said in the first message, the drive is internal, otherwise i wouldnt have posted.the hardware is one of the latest hitachi 1tb drives, sil 3112 sata controller working in raid mode (i've flashed it some time ago and now i can't flash normal bios back). the software is fresh install of winxp sp3. i've checked for viruses using livecd and i don't have any. i've tried everything obvious, like disabling power saving etc.
hermanm
Does the error consistently occur on various torrents or just a single torrent? Have you tried moving the file pieces to a different drive, relocating in µTorrent, and see if the error goes away?If its a hardware issue, it could be the controller, a defect on that one port, the sata cable, or the drive itself.
