brokencow
I've installed Windows 7 Beta recently and installed all my programs along with it, including Utorrent. What surprised me was how well it worked right away. I didn't have to port forward anything, it did it all by it's self. Somehow, even my modem(Belkin F5d7230-4) was port forwarded. I'm not sure if that is because of Windows 7 Beta or not.I was able to get download speed faster than what I was getting on XP which was great, because no matter how hard I tried to fix my settings, I could never get anything over 100k which was very annoying. Now I was getting speeds up to 900k a sec. I was surprised to find I that my internet speed was the same and virtually unaffected by the torrent being downloaded. Further more, I could even play CS:S with out any lag AT ALL.Needless to say I was very pleased with the way things were going...that is until today when all of that just stop working for no reason at all it seems. I decided to check everything to see if something was messed up for any reason, but nothing changed. To be safe, I reset my router, and redid all my firewall settings. Now I'm back to horrible XP style downloading speeds( seeds at 14(5015) then goes down to 1 and just just drags along, hovers around 40k a sec) and I lag when I try to play CS:S and the internet crawls when even downloading a really small file(350mb).Can anyone shed some light on what happen, or why I might have been able to do this in the first place?Let me know what other information you might need to help you out in determining what the problem might be.
