Business
Select menu Options->Preferences->BitTorrent.In "Basic BitTorrent Features", place a new toggle such as:[x] Enable national PeerThis new toggle is activated by default. But in France, we will prefer to turn it off, in order to be invisible to french administration. Thanks
jewelisheaven
I think you're talking about local peer discovery? You cannot be anonymous when filesharing. Someone somewhere knows who you are. So if you choose/have to use a VPN / proxy choose one who will not give away your identification information.
Switeck
Even a proxy won't always protect you. If the proxy ever goes offline, uTorrent will try to make DIRECT connections.More info about just how little "privacy" you have:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=55706http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=55752

moogly
I think not to connect to French peers. And avoid IP tracking done by HADOPI (a new gaz factory against piracy).
