1c3d0g
The standard answer has always been the Linksys WRT54GL with custom firmware.
wlk
ok thanks,im presuming its simple to switch to the customized firmware?also whats the difference between the Linksys WRT54GL and the Linksys WRT54GS?
1c3d0g
1.) Yes, it's very, very easy to use a custom firmware. Two that have been shown to operate smoothly are DD-WRT and HyperWRT. 2.) The GS has that Pre-N thingy to boost your intranet speed (doesn't make any difference to your regular Internet speed). If you're planning on getting a G/GS, make sure you get v.4 or lower! :| v.5 is based on VxWorks instead of Linux, has cut-down specs and just totally sucks for BitTorrent (and there's no way to change it either). Firon
Speedbooster is little more than a firmware setting, you can turn it on in the WRT54G(L) It's also for wireless only.
