Nub-Ki11a
Ok, now this is really strange, i cannot get the green circle I only get it sometimes for like 90 seconds. I always get the yellow triangle. But when I click it it comes with that "speed thing setup" so I when I press "check port forward" (I have the dutch version, I don't know what it says in the English version), it says this:------------Welcome to the µTorrent Port CheckerA test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.Checking port 14035 on 195.241.71.55...OK!OK!Port 14035 is open and accepting connections. You will be able to receive incoming BitTorrent connections.------------ Okay, so that's really strange, I port forwarded properly and my port (14035) is open but I still won't get proper downloads! I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit and 3 gb RAM and 2.3 Quad Intel Core2. I've got a 20MB ADSL2+ internet connection and my provider is Telfort (I already looked if they were blocking my downloads but they dont, I think). Im getting pretty frustrated now, because I tried about everything! ----------This is another small issue I don't know if it's really a problem weither it is normal but I can't get all peers I useally get about 10 and then it stops (I did look at my settings and I put the max peers on 50). So I won't get high speeds. Please help!
schnurlos
Did you follow the setup guide http://www.utorrent.com/documentation/connection-setup and tried running (about 10mins) a testtorrent like slackware http://www.slackware.com/torrents/slackware-10.2-install-d1.torrent or open office http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html as described, waiting for the green icon (can take some minutes)? Nub-Ki11a
Yes, I did. I got a green circle after 25 minutes. But I still couldn't get all available peers (2 of the (38). But 2 mins later it went yellow again.
torrentdemon
As far as my experience goes, the green circle on the bottom doesn't mean anything. In fact, I notice that I get higher speeds when its yellow o_0Even if all the ports, TCP connections are open, and your ISP isn't interfering, the icon still may not turn green for some reason. As long as your torrents are downloading fine, I don't think you should be AT ALL concerned.
jewelisheaven
If you're not using UPnP or NAT-PMP in the Preferences > Connection you can disable them. Green -> Yellow -> Green is OK. As long as you don't show as RED though is the main concern. There are going to be times, when you simply don't have peers connecting to you (you're only connecting to other people). As long as your port test is OK, and your ISP is behaving, you don't need to worry.
Nub-Ki11a
Ok, thanks alot guys. BTW is there a way too make more peers connect too you?
DreadWingKnight
No, and connecting to more peers doesn't guarantee better speeds anyway.
