Error message, not in FAQ

Hi there, i just want to say ive read the FAQ and siffted though it, secondly thank-you in advance for your post!

Ok, ive been getting this error message recently stating quote "Error: The requested operation cannot be perormed on a file with a user-mapped section open"

I have no clue what this means nor am i running any conflicting backround apps. Also a strange fact, this error only comes up when utorrent is minimized.

My os is windows7 rc But this should not be a problem due to my os running programs in xp mode ect. (meaning it can run older apps or apps not compadable with win7 in xp mode)

This is happending with more than 1 file ive downloaded, i can resume np and this error does not appear when i run utorrent opened (aka not min.) Its just annoying me

Any help would be great! sorry for the wall of text to guys, again thanks in advance

edit: i have no speed problems of any kind, my ports are open and my computer drivers are all up to date ect.

but some basic info on my laptop:

Compaq cq60-215dx

Speed- 10mb/s Dl 2mb/s ul

Router- netgear something or another

processer- amd athlon 64 dual core 2.0ghz

ram- 3gb

os- Win7 rc

version- 1.8.2 utorrent

anything else i left out, sorry in advance

Thank you for doing much research on the FAQ, and providing information. Unfortunately this is a sporadic problem on released OSes, verified inasmuch with "user-mapped" in forum search ;). Have you installed any security/firewall/AV software on that testing rig?

Are you sure it only pops up with uT minimized? How often does the error happen? Could you try uT up overnight to see if indeed it's the minimization or possibly simply the time differential.

Edit: One of the posts, from about the time of the win7 Beta release gives several possibilities http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=53775

im seeing AVG poping up in these posts. Im wondering if thats the problem possibly. The wierd thing is that yes it only happends when utorrent is minimized, thats why i was wondering!

Might be AVG, i use windows firewall and avg for virus protection. damm free-ware im to cheap to buy virus protection i guess you get what you pay for :(

To test whether it's AVG, simply uninstall it and run uT... if it doesn't reappear, that's what it was for you. Unfortunately it doesn't appear anywhere on the AVG forum, so that's no help.

But please do double check whether keeping uT up non-minimized still sees the error. Also it appears there are now multiple parts to free AVG, maybe disable the link scanner, or other parts incrementally. Since it appears to be a recurring problem, some more information about the computer may be helpful. See the Read Me in my signature for the HiJackThis and Process Explorer logfiles.

so its not AVG, thats good to hear! i would hate to disable my virus protection for any reason. I randomly got an access denied message aswell, which i remember from the faq section. It states to no check folders as "read only" type or something.

I will try this out, see how it goes i guess. Might just be the win7rc but never know with these things, just thought id ask ;)

I am greatfull for your help jewel, your awsome :)
