How to resume download after power cut stalls it?

I'm new to torrent, and have no idea what might happen when power goes off while some download is on. Will it start downloading from the point till where it downloaded last time, or will it require a fresh start? The latter will be quite difficult since the file size to be downloaded is quite large. Please advise if the former is possible. Thanks in advance

It will resume either at the exact point or within about 2-3% of where it was.

You should do a disk scan after a power outage to recover lost files.
