Adding torrents via email

Hi!

I think it might be a nice feature if µtorrent could get new torrent-files via email.

It can check an email account every - let's say - 30 minutes, and all emails with "utorrent" as subject can be laoded and the attachments (well, the attached torrent files) could be automaticly put in the download queue. Or the links to the torrents in the body of the mail. Other emails should be left alone . . .

I've a couple of programs on my home server that can be controled that way (eg. my ebay sniper) and found that a very handy feature . . .

You can add torrents via email attachments using an attachment extractor. I'm using a Thunderbird addon called attachment extractor, which I've set to automatically copy attachments to the UTorrent autoload folder.

As far as autoloading urls in the body of an email, I've been trying to do that for about a week now. It would require some string handling on the email side which copies the urls into the UTorrent url adder. I haven't found anything that does either of those things so far, but if you do let me know!

Hi!

Thanks for your answers. I've read mikeyb7's thread, but this is not what I mean.

My "server" ist not my PC for everydays work, but a special computer with low power consumption for 24/7 operation - when this PC grabs the emails I won't get them on my workstation. I'm not sure if it is possible to configure an email software so that it only fetches emails with a special subject.

And since my server is very weak on CPU-power and memory (VIA C3@800 MHz and 256 MB) I don't want to run more and more software on it - it already runs µtorrent, DC++, PeerGuardian, FTP-server, two downloadmanagers, the ebay sniper, fax-server, traffic shaper . . . that's the reason I'm using µtorrent and not Azureus/Vuze.

I just thought it would be a nice feature if directly implemented in µtorrent - my ebay-sniper works that way, it checks my email-Account every 30 minutes and fetches only the emails with appropriate subjects. Very cool feature, works even directly on the ebay-pages (send to a friend).

greetings, mabuse

Oh, and sorry for my bad english - I'm german and foreign languages are not my strong point.
